How do I make a purchase?
Shopping at Joe Button is simple – you can choose a shirt from our collection of must-haves or you can design our own:

Joe Button lets you be the designer of your own shirt. Simply click on the highlighted blue labels of the different parts of the shirt to view the options available and select the style of your choice. When you are done, select a sizing method and then add to your cart.

Joe Button’s collection of must-have shirts is exactly that. It’s a range of shirts that are essential in every guy and girl’s wardrobe. We’ve got a shirt for every occasion, whether it’s a Monday meeting, Saturday night out or a lazy Sunday afternoon. All you need to do is select your size and buy.
If there’s anything in particular that you want to change on one of our must-have shirts, don’t worry - all of our shirts are fully customizable. Simply click on the feature that you want to change in the customization panel on the right and select another option.
Do I need to have an account to purchase?
No, you don’t need an account to design or buy anything but creating an account lets you:

How does Joe Button make premium quality custom shirts at such a low price?
Custom-made shirts are usually expensive as you are paying a tailor to provide you with a premium quality service. That said, an off-the-rack shirt should not be so expensive. The makers of these standardized shirts are mainly established companies who use the perception of “traditional craftsmanship” to justify the high prices of their shirts. In reality, most of these companies outsource production overseas, employing low cost labor and earning super-sized profits.
At Joe Button we let you be your own custom tailor. So whilst we use traditional age-old tailoring methods to create your shirt, we lower our costs by outsourcing the design, measurement and fabric selection to you. By lowering our costs, we can provide a premium quality custom shirt to you at a lower price. Click here to learn more.
Do you own any stores?
No. Retail shops with fancy fit-outs are expensive and most shirt makers who own these stores have to charge more for their shirts to pay for them. We only want you to pay for what you’re buying.
What type of fabrics are your dress shirts made of?
All of our fabrics are 100% European cotton, sourced from France, Italy, Switzerland and the UK. We hand pick each and every fabric to make sure you get the latest looks and best quality. Click here to learn more.
Do you offer wrinkle-free / easy iron fabrics?
We know that a lot of companies now offer wrinkle-free clothing and although we recognize that this may be convenient, wrinkle-free shirts need to be treated with a resin that releases formaldehyde fumes that may cause skin irritation for some people. Additionally, wrinkle-free fabrics are more likely to retain odors, are less breathable and durable and do not drape the body in the same way a 100% cotton shirt does.
We have chosen not to include these fabrics in the Joe Button range as we feel strongly about delivering a product that is natural, comfortable and of premium quality.
Where are Joe Button shirts made?
All Joe Button shirts are crafted in Hong Kong by high quality tailors with over 50 years of experience in the bespoke garmenting industry.
Do you make custom shirts for children?
Joe Button customers come in all shapes and sizes and we think children deserve to look good, especially on special occasions.
We can make a custom shirt for a child if you provide us with either their body or shirt measurements. If you are placing an order for a child, please contact us with the order number so we can let our tailors know.
Can I order short sleeve shirts?
Sure! We offer different sleeve length options for both men and women. Simply go to the Design my Shirt page, select cuff and then choose from the different sleeve length options.
Will my measurement and design profiles be saved for future orders?
Yes! And this is one of the best things about Joe Button. You only have to input your measurements on your first order. Once you have your Joe Button account is setup, your design profiles and measurements will be saved for easier ordering next time.
Is my personal information kept private?
Any personal information you provide us is kept absolutely private and confidential. We will not disclose, rent or sell this information to any third parties unless required by law. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.
Joe Button may use your contact details to inform you of new arrivals, promotions or sales. If you don’t want to receive these updates, you can unsubscribe by logging into your account and editing your email preferences.
Do you sell gift certificates?
If you would like to buy a gift certificate, just email us and we will send you one. We are working on our website gift certificate functionality right now, so you will see this on the site very shortly!
Do you have an affiliates program?
Yes. We are looking to create honest partnerships with retailers and entrepreneurs. If you’re interested in becoming a Joe Button affiliate, please contact us – we’d love to hear from you.
How do I look after my Joe Button shirt?
Ironing - You should always iron a dress shirt before wearing it. Click here to read more.
Washing at home– Undo all the buttons and turn your Joe Button shirt inside out before washing. Do not wash in water temperatures over 40°C / 105°F. Do not tumble-dry your shirt as this may cause it to shrink or wear.

Will my shirts shrink?
Our shirts are made of 100% cotton, so you should expect them to shrink slightly after the first few washes. We take this into consideration when making your dress shirts so please keep this in mind when you first try it on.

SIZING
Which standard size should I choose?
Joe Button shirt sizes are standard Australian sizes To convert this to a size that you’re familiar with, simply view the Size Chart on every Design My Shirt page to see our conversion chart.

Can I measure myself and input custom sizes if I am a woman?
Currently we only offer standard sizes for women however, all the same design options available for men are also available for women. Women also have the option of creating individually designed shirtdresses.
We understand that women want the option of custom fit and are currently perfecting our women’s sizing methods. It shouldn’t be too long!
I am not a standard size. Do I have other sizing options?
Of course you do. To get a well-fitted Joe Button shirt, you can measure your body or if you have a favorite shirt that fits you well, you can give us the measurements of that shirt.
To see how to measure yourself or your shirt, go to custom sizing page, select whether your measurements are for your body or for your shirt at the top of the page. Then click on any of the blank fields where you are supposed to put your measurements and a set of instructions will pop up. Alternatively, you can also visit the How to Measure page for detailed instructions.
I can’t be bothered to measure myself. Do you have other sizing options?
If you don’t want to measure yourself and you’re pretty close to a standard size you can alter one or more measurements from a standard size base.
Simply select your standard size under Customize Your Size on the Sizing Page. All the dimensions of that standard size will populate in each of the measurement fields and you can then change one or as many of these as you like.
If you would like to modify a standard size, simply click on one of the standard sizes, e.g. S, M, L, XL. The measurement fields will automatically populate according to the size you have selected. You can now change any of these measurements to fit to your body type.
What units do I use to input my measurements?
You can measure yourself or your shirt in centimeters or inches. Remember to select which one on the sizing page before you input or alter your measurements.

SHIPPING
Do you offer international shipping and how long will it take for my order to be delivered?
Joe Button offers FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING for all orders over $200. For all other orders, Joe Button offers $15 flat rate international express shipping.
Can I track my order?
As a registered Joe Button user, you can view the status of your shirt order which will be updated throughout the production and delivery process.
Once your order has been dispatched, you can only track its exact location if you choose expedited shipping.
Do I have to pay any taxes or customs duties?
This will depend on where your order is being shipped. Most countries including USA, Australia and South Korea allow free trade over the Internet and will not charge any taxes or duties for small packages entering the country.
If you are shipping to a Delivery Duty Unpaid country, the price of your final purchase will be exclusive of all taxes and duties. As the recipient, you are then liable for all import duties, customs and local sales taxes levied by the country you are shipping to. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges and cannot tell you what the cost of this would be as customs and import duties vary widely for different countries. Please check with your local customs office for current charges so you are aware of what you may have to pay to release your orders.
PAYMENT
How do I pay for my shirt?
We accept Visa and MasterCard and we’re currently working on more payment options which should be ready soon. We do not accept cash or cheques.
All prices are quoted in Australian dollars.
Is it safe to use my credit card at Joe Button?
Your personal online security is very important to us at Joe Button. We use 256-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to process your personal and credit card information through our secure checkout system. This encrypts and protects the data you send to us over the internet. If SSL is enabled, you will see a padlock at the top of your browser and you can click on this to find out information about the SSL digital certificate registration.
You will also notice that when you look at the location (URL) field at the top of the browser you will see it begin with 'https:' instead of the normal 'http:'. This means that you are in secure mode.
Can I amend or cancel my order after I’ve already checked out?
You can cancel or amend an order within 3 hours of making your Joe Button purchase.
If you need to make changes or cancel an order, please email us at orders@joebutton.com and provide us with your order number as well as a detailed description of amendments or instructions for cancellation. We cannot cancel or amend any orders after 3 hours of your initial checkout as your shirt will already be in production.
RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY
The shirt I received does not match the one I ordered. What should I do?
We try our absolute best to deliver your shirt exactly as you specified in your order however, because our shirts are individually handmade by our tailors, there may be instances where an error could occur.
If the shirt you received does not match what you ordered, send us an email at orders@joebutton.com within 3 days of receipt. Provide us with your order number and a detailed description of the discrepancy (including photographs, if applicable), then send the shirt back to us. Once we receive your shirt and conclude that it is an error on our part, we will re-make the shirt and send it back to you free of charge.
Please note that a measurement discrepancy is considered to be a difference between the provided measurements and the actual shirt measurements of greater than ¾ inch (1.9cm).
Please make sure any returned shirts are sent in their original condition. We will not accept any returns that have already been used.
Can I exchange my shirt?
As Joe Button shirts are custom designed and custom fitted to each individual, we cannot accept any returns for exchange.
Returns Policy
We aim to always deliver a Joe Button shirt that you will love but if for whatever reason you aren’t 100% satisfied, we will make it up to you!
We always provide you with the exact measurements of your Joe Button shirt just before checkout, so please check this carefully before you confirm the order.
My shirt doesn't fit me
If you find that your shirt doesn’t fit you, please check to see if you provided us with the right measurements by comparing your Joe Button shirt against the shirt measurements in your order form. Instructions on how to do this can be found here.
The standard allowance of our tailoring service is 0.75 inch (1.9cm). This means that if the measurements on your shirt differ by more than 0.75 inch compared to the measurements in your order form, we’ll re-make your shirt and ship it to you free of charge. If this happens, email us at orders@joebutton.com within 3 days and tell us exactly what went wrong (e.g. sleeves are 2 inches too long, waist is 1 inch too small etc). The more information you give us, the better (photos, diagrams etc). We’ll email you back and let you know where to send your incorrect shirt and your new shirt will be on it’s way.
Design and Shop with Confidence
We understand that you may be new to the online-self-measuring process and little mistakes can happen while either measuring yourself or using our shirt design tool. To make sure that you can design and shop at Joe Button with confidence, if you make a mistake, we’ll help pay for the cost of any additional alterations (up to $20) that you may need from your local tailor to make sure you get a perfect fit.
